Choose from two paralegal programs
GU/MSB-Elk River provides three paralegal training programs to suit students’ varying educational and professional goals. These programs are as follows:
Bachelor of Science in Paralegal. In this four-year program, students learn to assist attorneys with trial preparation, client interviews, investigating facts and preparing evidence. Students receive extensive paralegal training covering topics such as advanced legal research, alternative dispute resolution, probate practice, contracts and more.
In addition to legal courses, students in the bachelor’s degree program complete general education credits from the areas of communications, natural science and mathematics, social science and the humanities.
Associate in Applied Science in Paralegal. This two-year program prepares students to write legal correspondence, research legal sources, analyze and organize records and communicate with witnesses and clients. Coursework covers fundamental paralegal subjects such as legal terminology, legal research, bankruptcy, law office procedures, family law and more.
Students in the associate degree program complete legal and related courses and complementary elective in the areas of natural science and mathematics, communications, social science and the humanities.
