Work with animals throughout the program

At GU/MSB, we stress practical training in all of our college programs. In the vet tech program, this means students get plenty of hands-on experience with animals. Our sophisticated veterinary suites are designed to simulate real-life working environments in veterinary technology, and our “patients” are real rescue animals that need veterinary care.

Students in our program gain hands-on experience through activities such as:

  • Collecting and analyzing samples
  • Applying bandages and dressings
  • Performing animal physical therapy
  • Administering medicine
  • Performing minor procedures
  • Visiting local animal shelters, farms, vet clinics and wildlife refuges
