Become a Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA)
At Globe University/Minnesota School of Business, we train students for careers. In our medical assistant programs, we do this by preparing students to become Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs), a credential offered by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). Employers recognize medical assistant certification as a mark of competency and professionalism in the industry. We offer training for the CMA Certification Examination throughout the curriculum and devote a whole class, CMA Review, to preparing students to successfully pass the exam.
Practice your skills during clinical training
Students in our medical assistant programs participate in a clinical practicum in local allied health settings, where they practice the skills and procedures they have learned in school. This real-world experience is often our students’ favorite part of the program. Using their training to help real people, students get an excellent feel for the everyday skills that are necessary for success in medical assisting.
Prepare for ARRT certification with radiology/X-ray training
Graduates of our medical assistant programs are trained in radiology and practice using real x-ray equipment. They will be prepared for certification in limited scope radiology from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) – a highly marketable credential.
Practical medical assistant training
Both the diploma and associate programs in medical assisting cover the following subjects:
|
|
Diploma students learn fundamental technical skills and can finish the program in just 15 months of full-time study. This is a good option for those who wish to complete their training quickly.
Associate degree students take general education courses in addition to core courses, giving them the opportunity to refine their skills in communication, critical thinking and analysis. Associate degree students can complete the program in less than two years of full-time study.
